Say there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. Every evening, the bank deletes whatever remains of this sum that you have failed to use during the day. It does not carry over any balance from day to day.

What would you do if you had such an account?

Draw out every cent, every day, of course!

Well, each of us has such an account. Its name is TIME.

Every morning, time credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever you have failed to put to use. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft.

Each day, time opens a new account for you, Each night, it burns whatever remains in the account. If you fail to use up all of the day’s deposits, you can’t keep them for tomorrow. Neither can you draw from what you will be put in the next morning.

Time’s clock runs non-stop.

To realise the value of one year, ask the student who has failed to grade.

To realise the value of one month, ask the mother who has given birth to a premature baby.

To realise the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realise the value of one hour, ask two lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realise the value of one minute, ask the traveler who has just missed his train.

To realise the value of one second, ask the motorist who has just avoided an accident.

To realise the value of one millisecond, ask the athlete who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.

Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because you have shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with. And remember that time waits for no one. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present!

假设有一家银行，每天早上往你的帐户上存入 86400 元人民币，每天晚上，删除你当天没有用完的钱，而不会将帐目转入下一天。

当然是每天取出所有的钱！

每一个人都有这样一个账户，账户名是时间。

每天早上，时间给你存入 86400 秒，每晚取消你没有用完的时间，不会自动转入第二天，也不允许透支。

每一天，时间为你开办一个新帐户，每天晚上，把账户里所有剩下的都取消，就像丢了一样。如果你没有用完当天的存储你也就不能保存到明天，也不能动用第二天的储蓄。

请珍视你所拥有的每一刻美好时光，特别是你可以和一些值得付出的人来分享这些时光。记住时间不等人，昨天是历史，明天是未来，今天是礼物。这就是为什么在英语里“礼物”也被称作“现在”的原因！
